Concepts:Cataphracts; riders; lancers; war-like; martial honour; pride; military organisation & tactics; tribal; Zulu; giant lizards; reptile cavalry; spears & lances; skill-at-arms; everyone is either a warrior, or someone who supports the warriors (craftspeoples, priests; technologists, etc); lack of strong technological/industrial base made up for with giant lizard cavalry, constant war practice & warrior culture.
Early fiction concepts by Floom:
"Using the pure salt, the thousand spears perform a sort of bio-enhancing husbandry on the lizards that nest in the sulphurous pools of their homelands. The lizards in question show a unique resistance to the harmful side effects of prolonged exposure to the salts that would kill a normal man, instead benefiting mainly from the benefits; increased muscle and bone mass, growing them large and clever. These lizards have made up the foundation of the thousand spears ability to thrive in such a harsh and unforgiving land. Adopting a warrior culture, for hard men are required to master and ride the lizards for any purpose. The strongest of wills among the tribe ride these beasts into combat wielding heavy iron lances, crashing through their enemies, machine or man alike."
