Warhost
The warhosts of Rust Banner are the roaring terrors of the Korashi expanse.
Rust Banner's reputation amongst the other tribes is poor. This is not undeserved - generations of raids and pillage have not ingratiated them to others. But they are not only a tribe of marauding destroyers. Most clans also engage in trade, exploration, and sacred pan-tribal ceremonies and gatherings. Some clans produce accomplished inventors, and some of the finest scrap-mechanics in the land are known to come from Rust Banner.
But their warhosts represent none of those things. These murderous warriors embody only two desires - to ride, and to war. Intensely close-knit bands, when a warhost forms they travel, fight and live as a single entity, often pledging to take no more into their ranks and dissolving only once their last rider has been slain. Familiar like siblings (and sometimes closer), it is an all-or-nothing, death-or-glory mentality that is the heart of their strength.
The warhost rider forever tries to outdo their comrade-rivals in ever more daring acts. A good life is one that ends with a good death. A good death is one wreathed with fire, trailing blood, and preceded by a heady mix of thrill, terror and destructive glee that few outsiders will ever understand.
It is for these reasons that enemies flee the hosts. To stop an enemy that rides screaming, laughing and fearless into the fray, intent only on mayhem and carnage, is to slay each and every one of their number. There is no driving them back, no causing them to surrender. Far better then to avoid the conflict entirely - even if that means abandoning sites of great abundance when you catch word of them coming.
